Description

St. Joseph Catholic School in Vancouver, WA is seeking a full-time learning resource teacher for the 2025-26 school year, with a salary range of $45,000-$65,000. At St. Joseph, we value faith, service, and academic excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

• Work with the Learning Resource Team and general education teachers to assess and identify students who may need additional reading support outside of classroom instruction.
• Assist the Learning Resource Coordinator in inputting assessment data into the computer system.
• Distribute data to teachers and compare/contrast findings.
• Coordinate with teachers shortly after assessments to identify students needing additional support.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and send home permission forms as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents regarding student struggles.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences involving students requiring additional support.
• Maintain relevant data files on students, including assessments, notes, and work samples.
• Create and email narrative reports for report cards prior to deadlines.
• Conduct assessments and groupings based on IMSE materials for grades 1-3, focusing on phonics intervention.
• Lead reading/spelling interventions for grades 4-5 and support students in grades 6-8 with reading materials and recordings.
• Facilitate writing groups for grades 4-8 as needed.
• Support classroom teachers with specific skills and observations.
• Assist in modifying spelling lists for students in grades 1-4 as requested.
• Participate in daily lunch/recess duties and weekly team meetings.
• Assist with assessments for new students and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The candidate must hold a current Washington State Teaching Credential and meet Archdiocesan Safe Environment Standards.
