Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare curriculum, including writing syllabi and selecting textbooks.
  • Develop and teach learning frameworks classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods, including dual enrollment at local high schools.
  • Assist in student advisement and serve on college committees; contribute to student success initiatives.
  • Perform other faculty duties as assigned; maintain 100% on-site presence.

Description

Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to teach Learning Frameworks, which introduces students to psychological theories of learning, cognition and motivation to serve as a conceptual basis for college-level student academic strategies.

Responsibilities Include
  • Prepares curriculum, including writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc
  • develops and teaches learning frameworks classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods, including dual enrollment instruction at local high schools
  • Assists in the advisement of students;
  • Serves on carious assigned college committees and has a commitment to student success;
  • Performing other faculty duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Education or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in education courses from a regionally accredited college
  • Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods;
  • Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and other qualities;
  • experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution;
  • exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience, community college level preferred
  • bilingual language skills a plus
