Job description

As a Learning Experience Designer, you will partner with a cross-functional team of subject matter experts across Training/Professional Services, Marketing, and Product Management, as appropriate, to develop and maintain on-demand training materials for Thomson Reuters Legal products. The ideal candidate will have experience in adult learning, instructional design, learning technology, and multimedia development, with a strong preference for candidates proficient in using AI tools like Claude to accelerate content creation. Our team blends customer enablement and marketing disciplines to deliver learning experiences that meet the bar for external, customer-facing audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
In the role of Learning Experience Designer, you will be responsible for:

Drive creation and maintenance of world-class eLearning experiences for a portfolio of Legal AI SaaS software products to drive customer usage and adoption in their daily workflow

Manage projects from start to finish in collaboration with various internal teams and any necessary external vendors

Work directly with subject matter experts to design and develop content including video scripts, user guides, and additional eLearning course material

Leverage AI tools, particularly Claude, to streamline content development workflows and build custom learning interactions and supplemental elements — from drafting scripts and course outlines to coding lightweight interactive components — while applying sound judgment on where human review and refinement are needed

Apply graphic design principles (layout, typography, color, visual hierarchy) to ensure learning materials are polished, on-brand, and easy to visually navigate

Utilize platform authoring tools and training best practices to create highly effective, engaging learning experiences

Stay current and provide thought leadership on innovation in eLearning and customer education

Continuously build knowledge of the Legal products and customers to ensure training content being delivered is up to date and providing value to our customers

Maintain learning content within LMS and other technology systems
Measure and analyze content effectiveness and update content as necessary
Required Qualifications

BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communications, Informatics, Computer Science, Business, Human Resources, or 5 years of Learning Experience Design or Instructional Design

Solid grounding in adult learning theory and instructional design best practices

Comfortable designing for external, customer-facing audiences — balancing marketing polish with instructional rigor — rather than purely internal enablement content

Expert with learning technology such as Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate, WellSaid, HTML, and other website management tools

Knowledge and working experience with learning management systems (LMS) and content management systems.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint

Strong foundation in graphic design principles (layout, typography, color theory, visual hierarchy) and a demonstrated ability to apply them to create modern, visually polished content that’s easy to consume

Strong written and verbal communication skills, specifically writing and designing instructional content

Video creation and editing experience
Creative thinker, open to change, and learns quickly when facing new problems
Strong attention to detail
Proven project management and organization skills
Preferred Qualifications
Reviewable portfolio of work preferred

Experience in customer education (as distinct from internal/employee enablement) strongly preferred

Proficiency with AI tools, particularly Claude, for content development, ideation, and workflow efficiency strongly preferred
