Job summary

Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh, NC seeks a Learning Engagement Coordinator to deliver facilitated, play-based learning programs for children aged 0–11, including Family STEM Club and Summer Camp prep. You will coordinate events, supervise interns, and partner with sponsors to create memorable learning experiences.

The ideal candidate has a background in child development or education, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic museum setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Child Development, Education, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience delivering engaging learning experiences for children (0–11) and creating inspiring environments.
  • 2 years of experience in early childhood development and play-based learning preferred.
  • Proven ability to initiate, prioritize, organize, and execute multiple projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver facilitated hands-on, play-based daily programming and activities for children ages 0–11, with occasional off-site delivery.
  • Coordinate with sponsors and external partners to deliver engaging programs and activities.
  • Lead and assist with learning events, including planning food, activities, and setting up/breaking down events.
  • Coordinate and lead Guest Star Scientist Program with external partners.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with museum guests.
  • Collect and share data from program surveys and participation numbers.

Marbles Kids Museum is a vibrant, nonprofit children’s museum and IMAX Theatre located in the heart of downtown Raleigh. Marbles has been sparking imagination, discovery, and learning through play since opening its doors in 2007. Marbles’ serves a diverse population of families, school groups, and community organizations through award-winning play-based exhibits, summer camps, IMAX documentaries, feature movies, and special events year-round. Today Marbles ranks among the top family destinations in North Carolina providing learning experiences for children with creative programs, and larger-than-life movies.

The Opportunity

At Marbles, every program is an opportunity to ignite imagination and create meaningful learning moments for children and families. We are seeking a passionate Learning Engagement Coordinator responsible for coordinating and delivering facilitated learning programming in the museum , including Family STEM Club, Ready Set School, Masterminds, Summer Camp Pre-K Lead, Guest Star Fitness, and offsite Saturday events. In addition, they play a key role in leading a Guest Star Scientists Program.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver facilitated hands-on, play-based daily programming and activities geared towards children ages 0-11, with occasional delivery at off-site locations.
  • Coordinate with sponsors and other external partners to deliver and support engaging programs and activities.
  • Lead and assist with learning events, including but, not limited to planning food, activities, and setting up and breaking down events.
  • Coordinate and lead Guest Star Scientist Program in coordination with external partners.
  • Provide exceptional, proactive customer service by initiating and engaging in interactions with museum guests.
  • Collect and share data, including but not limited to programmatic surveys and participation numbers on museum programs and events.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Train and supervise interns and volunteers involved in the programs this role facilitates.
Ideal Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience delivering engaging learning experiences for children (0-11 years old) and creating inspiring environments is ideal.
  • 2 years of experience in early childhood development and play-based learning preferred.
  • Proven ability to initiate, prioritize, organize, and execute multiple projects at a time.
  • Demonstrated ability to share creative, fresh ideas.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physical Demands
  • Walking, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Exposure to a noisy and crowded atmosphere.
  • May need to walk between two buildings with some outdoor exposure.
  • Schedule is generally Tuesday-Saturday with flexibilityrequired, including weekends, evenings, and holidays .
