Qualifications

• Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate certification for Learning Disabilities (SM).
• T2EA certification accepted.
• Experience working with students with learning disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of special education instructional strategies.
• Understanding of IEPs and individualized instruction.
• Ability to modify curriculum and instructional materials based on student needs.
• Ability to support academic, behavioral, social, and functional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students identified with Learning Disabilities (SM).
• Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies based on student needs.
• Follow and implement student IEPs and individualized educational goals.
• Adapt curriculum, assignments, and instructional materials to support individual learning needs.
• Monitor and document student academic, developmental, behavioral, and functional progress.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, therapists, administrators, and other support personnel.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational needs.
• Maintain accurate student records and required special education documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings and other student support meetings as required.
