Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Learning & Development Manager to build and scale employee development, training, and compliance across the company. You will own the LMS, design programs, and partner with engineering and manufacturing to meet training needs.

Based in a fast-paced aerospace environment, you will manage external providers, establish reporting, and help scale L&D as the company grows. This role is primarily office-based at Redondo Beach with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or a related HR function.
• Demonstrated experience selecting, implementing, or administering an LMS.
• Demonstrated experience building training programs or L&D capabilities from the ground up.
• Strong project management and stakeholder-management skills.
• Demonstrated experience with training compliance, reporting, and/or audit readiness.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HRIS/LMS platforms.
• High school diploma, or GED certificate equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage third-party training vendors, including selection, scheduling, delivery, and budget.
• Establish training policies, compliance tracking, reporting, and metrics while continuously improving programs as the company scales.

Description

As the Learning & Development Manager at Impulse, you will establish the systems, programs, and processes that support employee development, training, and compliance across the company.

This role will own the company’s LMS, build training programs, partner with technical and business leaders, manage external training providers, and establish the reporting and processes needed to scale L&D in a fast-paced aerospace environment. Primarily office-based at our Redondo Beach facility. Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or another regulated industry
• Familiarity with ITAR/export controls, cybersecurity, safety, ethics, or other government-contractor training requirements
• Instructional design experience or an L&D certification (e.g., ATD/CPTD)
• Experience scaling L&D programs in a high-growth startup
• Bachelors degree in engineering, or related field

Additional Information: Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
