Job summary

Recent Jobs is seeking an Unclassified - Tutor at SLCC's Academic Success Center within Academic & Student Affairs. The tutor provides intrusive academic and tutorial support one-on-one and in small groups, in person or virtually, to help participants develop strong study skills and succeed academically.

Required: at least 2 years of undergraduate study with transcripts; must have earned a B or higher in the subject(s). Preferred: Associate or advanced degree.

Responsibilities

• Provides intrusive academic and tutorial support in designated courses to participants through one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions.
• Provides mentoring and motivational support to participants.
• Assists participants with developing the essential study skills for academic success.
• Learning sessions may be held virtually at the Academic Success Center or an on-campus location designated by the Associate Director for Academic Success.
• Maintains accurate records of learning sessions.
• Serves as a role model for all students seeking academic assistance.
• Be punctual for all scheduled learning sessions.
• Prepares supplemental materials.
• Helps procure and organize teaching materials.
• Attends tutor training sessions regularly and scheduled staff meetings.
• Performs any other related duties as required or assigned to achieve project goals and objectives.

Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
