Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is seeking a City-wide Paraeducator for the Learning Center, currently stationed at NEMS. You will assist in small group and individual pupil instruction under a special education teacher, ensuring safety and smooth operation of the classroom.

Responsibilities include supporting instructional activities, managing transitions, and helping with IEP implementation while maintaining effective relationships with students, staff, and the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college credit or an associate degree, or paraprofessional assessment.
• Ability to assist instruction under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instruction under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Assist teacher in maintaining discipline and supporting activities.
• Escort students during transitions and supervise at recess and lunch.
• Support the implementation of IEPs for students.
• Prepare and copy instructional materials; assist with paperwork.
• Alert teachers to problems observed; collaborate with staff.
