Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Library Services.
• Knowledge of library systems and databases.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees, coordinates, organizes, and monitors library technical services functions—equipment inventory, maintenance, collection inventory, and organization.
• Uses the library’s automated system to coordinate and process purchase requisitions for books, periodicals and supplies, to search and verify bibliographic information and to contact vendors.
• Assists students and faculty in locating and retrieving information from a variety of databases.
• Also assists in the preparation of instructional materials.
• Receives and processes claims for periodicals, and handles library correspondence meaning responding, drafting response.
• Uses the acquisition and cataloging modules to maintain the accounting and budgetary system.
• Coordinates repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment’s.
• Prepares reports and records—inventory, project proposals, and bibliographies.
• Assists librarians, and in their absence, assumes responsibility for maintaining library services.
• Coordinates and prepares library material for binding, mending, and disposing.
