Qualifications

• Must have taken a class that offers Learning Assistant positions and earned a B or better.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, be reliable, confident in the subject area.
• Must have some flexibility in schedule.

Responsibilities

• Attending the course in which they are embedded.
• Functioning as a mentor, coach, and tutor to students in the course.
• Holding review sessions and/or tutoring hours outside class to help students retain course material, including coaching students on study strategies.
• Attending training sessions as mandated by the Learning Assistant supervisor.
• May be considered for leadership positions once training is completed and if job performance is satisfactory.
