Qualifications

• Grade of B or higher in the course or related course you are requesting to be a Learning Assistant/Remedial Tutor/Tutor for.
• In good standing at the University with at least a 3.0 GPA.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Awareness and sensitivity to individual learning styles and student needs.
• Ability to apply study strategies, organizational skills, and time management in sessions.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate discussion with groups of students in lecture by asking questions to help students learn materials.
• Attend weekly meetings with course instructor and teaching assistants (TAs) to prepare for sessions.
• Participate in trainings and a teaching seminar course (as a newly hired Learning Assistant).
