Job summary

Breeze Airways seeks Lear 45 Captains to lead safe, on-time flight operations in line with FARs and company policies. You will assess airworthiness, plan each flight, supervise crew, and maintain thorough knowledge of systems and procedures.

Ideal candidates have ATP with multi-engine, 2,500+ hours, and first-class medicals, plus the ability to travel and work in the United States. The role offers exposure to a modern fleet and a supportive aviation culture.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 23 years old at time of hire.
  • FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with airplane multi-engine class rating.
  • 2,500+ hours total time (not including simulator and/or Flight Engineer time).
  • 1,000 hours fixed wing PIC; 1,000 hours fixed wing multi-engine; 500 hours fixed wing jet; 500 hours multicrew.
  • Actively flying two of the past five years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement.
  • Must ensure pilot training history is accurately maintained and disclosed per PRD regulations.
  • Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and passport.
  • Must be able to travel unrestricted to and from the United States.
  • Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test.
  • TSA fingerprint-based background check and Breeze background check.
  • Authorization to work in the United States as defined by law.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safe and timely completion of flight operations per FARs and policies.
  • Operates assigned flights after determining airworthiness and weather/navigation factors.
  • Supervise and enroute performance of crewmembers assigned to their aircraft.
  • Maintain a high degree of proficiency and knowledge of procedures and systems.
  • Complete pre- and post-flight inspections to ensure airworthiness.
  • Familiarize with weather and plan departures/arrivals accordingly.
  • Ensure proper flight planning and fueling per policies and regulations.
  • Assist with handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminals.
  • Notify crew and passengers of turbulence or adverse conditions.
  • Observe conduct rules and company Playbooks; assess risk appropriately.
  • Perform other flight officer duties as assigned.

Breeze Airways Lear 45 Captains are responsible for ensuring safe and timely flight operations in accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations. Our Pilots are overall Leaders who safely take care of our Team Members and Guests. They understand that our pursuit of excellence is not a destination, but rather, a journey.

What you’ll do
  • Responsible for the safe and timely completion of flight operations in accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
  • Operates assigned flights after determining the airworthiness of the aircraft and reviewing all current factors such as weather, field conditions, navigational aids, etc., relative to the safe operation of the flight
  • Responsible for the operation of the aircraft during the designated period of duty unless relieved by Company authority – this involves operating the aircraft according to applicable Company policies and FARs
  • Responsible for the supervision and enroute performance of other crewmembers assigned to their aircraft
  • Maintains a high degree of proficiency and a thorough knowledge of flight operations, procedures, and systems applicable to the aircraft flown
  • Through completion of appropriate pre- and post-flight inspection, ensures the airworthy condition of assigned aircraft in accordance with Company policy and FARs
  • Becomes familiar with existing and forecast departure, arrival, and if applicable, alternate station weather prior to each flight
  • Ensures that the flight is planned and fueled properly so that it may be conducted safely and in accordance with current policies and regulations
  • Assists with and ensures proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points where other company personnel are not available
  • Notifies crew and passengers promptly of turbulence, adverse weather conditions or any other operational factors affecting the flight
  • Observe the Rules of Conduct for all employees as outlined in the Company Team Member Playbook and Pilot Playbook
  • The knowledge and ability to assess risk and use the proper resources to keep risk to an acceptable level during all phases of ground and flight operations
  • Perform such other flight officer duties as assigned by the Company

Here’s what you need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 23 years old at the time of hire

  • Must have 2,500+ hours total time (not including simulator and/or Flight Engineer time)
  • Must have a minimum: 1,000 hours fixed wing PIC
  • 1,000 hours fixed wing multi‑engine
  • 500 hours fixed wing jet
  • 500 hours multicrew
  • Actively flying two of the past five years
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement
  • Must ensure pilot training history is accurately maintained and disclosed in accordance with FAA Pilot Records Database (PRD) regulations.
  • Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate
  • Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Must have a valid passport
  • Must be able to travel unrestricted to and from the United States
  • Must pass a DOT pre‑employment drug test
  • Must pass a TSA required fingerprint‑based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lear 45 Type Rating
  • Lear 45 Captain Experience
  • Previous US Part 135 or Part 121 Experience

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Sit at the flight controls for extended periods, including long-duration flights
  • Operate flight controls, switches, and systems requiring manual dexterity and physical force
  • Maintain a valid FAA medical certificate, meeting applicable vision, hearing, and physical standards
  • Safely enter and exit the flight deck, including under emergency conditions
  • Lift and stow flight bags and equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Work in a pressurized cabin environment with changes in altitude and air pressure
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
