Job summary

Autocam, a division of NN, Inc., seeks a seasoned production leader to own a defined manufacturing area, ensuring on‑time delivery and quality. You will coordinate with purchasing, engineering and logistics to hit targets, drive continuous improvement, and mentor team members.

You will maintain a safe workplace, analyze process data, provide performance reviews, and support start‑ups for new projects within the value stream. Strong leadership and data skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain management.
• Strong data interpretation and cost-analysis skills.
• Proven ability to define issues, collect data, and implement practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a defined production area to meet delivery and quality targets.

A day in the lifeYou start the morning by reviewing dashboard data for your production area—headcount, labor utilization, and on‑time delivery. A note comes in from a customer about a delivery concern. As the primary contact for quality and delivery within your value stream, you huddle with quality assurance and logistics, align on root cause, and set an immediate plan.Next, you lead an area stand‑up. Purchasing, engineering, quality assurance, and logistics join you to align priorities, remove roadblocks, and reinforce continuous improvement tied to NN, Inc.’s Operating System. You coach team members, recognize great ideas, and assign actions for a new project start‑up.Midday, you walk the floor to verify a safe, healthy workplace in compliance with OSHA and company standards. You review process metrics, analyze manufacturing systems data for cost drivers, and make adjustments. In the afternoon, you host a brief mentoring session, provide timely feedback, and prepare performance reviews. You close the day by checking that QMS and EMS requirements are followed, and that the team is set up for tomorrow’s success.What you'll ownLead and manage a defined production area to meet customer expectations for delivery and quality.Serve as the single point of contact for customer delivery and quality concerns for the value stream.Coordinate cross‑functional support—purchasing, engineering, quality assurance, and logistics—to hit production and operational targets.Facilitate area meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned to NN, Inc.’s Operating System.Build engagement through clear communication, mentoring, and support for team‑generated improvement ideas.Ensure a safe, healthy workplace that meets OSHA and company standards.Manage KPIs including headcount, labor costs, and on‑time delivery.Use manufacturing systems data to drive cost awareness, analysis, and action.Deliver timely feedback and performance reviews.Lead and support start‑up teams for new projects in the value stream.Understand, follow, and support the Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).Leadership scopeYou will manage, train, direct, and evaluate the assigned production area, ensuring adherence to company policies and applicable laws, including OSHA regulations.What you bringBA/BS in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.5+ years in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain management.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.English reading/writing skills; ability to interpret technical documents and present to varied audiences; strong communication with internal teams and external customers.Solid math skills including statistics, cost calculations, and data interpretation; ability to read and apply production data and graphs.Proven problem‑solver: define issues, collect data, identify defects, draw conclusions, and implement practical solutions using production reports and metrics.Physical capability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 30 pounds; visual acuity for near/far work, color differentiation, and depth perception.
