Precision Castparts is seeking a hands-on shop worker to support LEAN initiatives and 5S across a busy production area in Milwaukie. You will assist in designing and assembling fixtures, tables, carts and shop aids while maintaining safety and organization.

The role emphasizes teamwork, ability to lift, use hand and power tools, and follow work orders. You will participate in continuous improvement projects, manage materials, and ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with PCC safety

Qualifikationen

• Lead cleaning crew and schedule tasks to meet deadlines.
• At least six months using hand and power tools (routers, table saws).
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Follow MP2 work orders and instructions.
• Communicate effectively with department personnel.
• Perform basic shop math.
• Organizational skills to manage information and materials.
• Valid driver’s license for PCC vehicle positions.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Work in environments with noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes.
• Forklift safety training completed.

Aufgaben

• Construct shop aids to support 5S initiatives.
• Label, paint, and tape floors and equipment for organization.
• Interface with departments on continuous improvement efforts.
• Construct and maintain X-ray backups.
• Cut lightweight pipe and wood and assemble with brackets, fittings and castors; deliver components.
• Assist in fixture, shop aid, and table design.
• Develop and maintain material lists for each department.
• Install and maintain floor coatings.
• Manage incoming stores and control costs.
• Basic welding, cutting, and grinding tasks as assigned.
• Comply with safety requirements and participate in training.
• May handle hazardous waste training if applicable.
• Maintain regular attendance and overtime as required.
• Perform other tasks as directed.
