Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. – Deer Creek (Portland, OR) is seeking a Plant Lean Utility Worker to support LEAN initiatives, 5S, and continuous improvement. The role involves designing and assembling fixtures, tables, and shop aides to improve efficiency on the Milwaukie plant floor.

You will construct shop aids, participate in 5S activities, and help keep a clean, organized work area while interfacing with departments to drive safety and cost-saving improvements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead a cleaning crew by scheduling tasks to meet deadlines.
• Six months of experience using hand and power tools including routers and table saws.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions from work orders.
• Effective communication and coordination with others.
• Basic shop math and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license where required for PCC vehicle use.

Responsibilities

• Support 5S initiatives and maintain lean plant organization.
• Construct and maintain shop aids, fixtures, and tables as needed.
• Interface with departments to promote continuous improvement and safety.
• Develop and maintain parts lists for department use.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of floor coatings.
• Manage incoming stores to control costs and ensure availability.
• Perform other tasks as directed and maintain a safe work environment.
