Job description

Overview

Prysmian is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry. We manufacture thousands of miles of underground and submarine cables and systems for power transmission and distribution, as well as medium/low voltage cables for construction and infrastructure. We also produce a comprehensive range of optical fibers, copper cables and connectivity for voice, video, and data transmission for the telecommunication sector. Prysmian employs almost 29,000 people across 52 countries.

Reporting to the Plant Director, we are seeking a Lean Transformation Manager for our Taunton, MA location. The Lean Transformation Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives by developing and implementing Kaizen methodologies and the Prysmian Performance System (PPS). This role will focus on fostering a workplace culture that empowers employees at all levels to streamline and enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The leader will collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and sustain operational excellence.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the transformation agenda. Direct line to the Site Director and leaders; full responsibility for shaping and driving the site’s Lean strategy and deployment.
  • Build and drive a site-wide Lean roadmap aligned to business strategy (Hoshin Kanri).
  • Partner directly with the Site Director to prioritize the highest-impact opportunities; drive measurable gains across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth.
  • Lead high-impact Kaizen events focused on flow, constraint removal, and cost transformation; target high-volume, high-revenue value streams where results matter most.
  • Ensure every initiative delivers hard, tracked results—not just activity metrics; sustain improvements through standard work and daily management.
  • Embed Lean thinking into daily decisions and project work; create a pipeline of future Lean leaders across the site.
  • Build a Lean culture beyond tools; develop operators, supervisors, and leaders into capable problem solvers; coach the organization on how to think, not just what to do.
  • Influence leadership teams who don’t report to you; drive behavior change and partner with the site leadership team to achieve sustained impact.
What You’ll Bring (Qualifications and Experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (industrial engineering strongly preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with leadership in Kaizen and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Gemba Kaizen, Value Stream Analysis, Visual & Daily Management, Hoshin Kanri, SMED, TPM, standard work development, and 3P layout.
  • Strong ability to facilitate Kaizen events and identify future Lean-minded personnel.
  • Proficiency leading cost reduction and process-flow improvement initiatives; experience with Kaizen tools (e.g., TAKT time, Standard Work, WIP, Kaizen Newspaper).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; provide leadership and strategic direction as part of the site leadership team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Master on TPS or Danaher Business System; DBS Certification.
  • Project management experience with a proven track record of meeting timelines or proactively adjusting to achieve goals.
  • Agile certification (e.g., SCALE) and change management credentials (e.g., PRos, OSCI).
  • Strong analytical background—SPC, hypothesis testing, regression and correlation analysis; problem-solving skills (e.g., 5-Whys).
