Job summary

The Marmon Group LLC is seeking a Lean Continuous Improvement Engineering Intern to support the deployment, evaluation, and implementation of Lean at the Marmon Transportation Group. You will interact with plant teams to promote Lean, improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and help drive measurable results.

This development role requires energy, initiative, and the ability to influence others. A 20–50% travel expectation and proficiency with Excel, SharePoint, and Smartsheets are

Qualifications

• Experience applying Lean methods to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Ability to lead and influence others without formal authority.
• Willingness to travel 20–50% to other facilities/shops.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint) and Smartsheets.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with local team to identify process gaps and implement improvements.
• Manage lean transformation activities and projects at a plant.
• Work with automation team to optimize processes before automation and build business cases.
• Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events through all stages.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentoring on Lean methods for sustainable improvements.
