Job summary

TPC Group is seeking a results-oriented Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence Specialist to lead high-impact improvement projects and develop problem-solving capability across the organization.

The role will drive Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and DMAIC initiatives while coaching engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to deliver measurable results through others. A strong change-agent mindset is essential for sustaining benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or related discipline.
• Five+ years in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, or related field.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional improvement projects with measurable results.
• Experience coaching engineers, project leaders, or Green Belts.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder-management, and change-leadership skills.
• Ability to influence decisions and drive results without direct authority.
• Strong analytical, project-management, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean, Six Sigma DMAIC, Kaizen, and operational excellence projects improving safety, reliability, quality, cost, throughput and productivity.
• Coach and mentor engineers, Green Belts, and cross-functional teams through project lifecycles.
• Facilitate structured problem-solving: root cause analysis, process and value-stream mapping, and statistical analysis.
• Help leaders identify, scope, prioritize, and resource high-value improvement opportunities.
• Develop project charters, business cases, and implementation and control plans.
• Partner with Finance and process owners to validate benefits and sustain results.
• Build relationships across Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Quality, EHSS, and SCM.
• Influence leaders to remove barriers and sustain project accountability.
• Support CI/OE governance, portfolio management, and capability development.
• Deliver training in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, RCA, and visual management.
• Promote a culture where teams own processes while CI/OE provides coaching and support.
