LEAN Program Manager - Continuous Improvement

In 2021 we moved into a brand new ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in Madison, WI designed to conduct food Microbiology testing specializing in infant formula, sole-source nutrition products, hemp and CBD, dietary supplements, and a variety of botanicals. Our testing portfolio includes vitamins, minerals, contaminants, pesticides and shelf-life studies.

We test a variety of instrumentation and analytical technologies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
  • Foster morale and teamwork
  • Maintains understanding of business unit processes and trends
  • Drives related strategic initiatives that contribute to a more data and process-driven culture
  • Identifies system or procedural improvement opportunities and participates in their implementation
  • Conceives, designs, and manages specific LEAN projects to an efficient and timely completion
  • Works effectively in a matrix reporting structure
  • Supports the leadership staff by:
    • Providing reports and analysis of department metrics and management information
    • Documenting procedures
    • Developing and/or improving standard functional processes/procedures
    • Interfacing with key clients to establish important performance measures
    • Troubleshooting problems and providing input to staffing requirements and staff issues
    • Driving process improvement initiatives
    • Training, mentoring, and coaching others with data analysis and use of statistical tools and process excellence techniques
    • Enhancing project management skills and techniques; managing multiple priorities effectively and meeting commitments accurately and timely
    • Developing and communicating business cases to support recommendations for change and developing controls to monitor progress associated with implementation
    • Contributing towards a cohesive team environment
    • Conducting all activities in a safe and efficient manner
    • Performing other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory agency guidelines is preferred
  • Proven organization, observation, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with computers and software applications
  • Enhanced experience with LIMS (preferred)
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of the organization
  • Participate in implementing improvements in procedures
  • Ability to report and present information
  • Highly focused on People/Process/Client philosophy and orientation
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Ability to learn new tasks
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently

Some travel to California and Louisiana as needed to support other Microbiology laboratory sites.
