Responsibilities

• Supervise department personnel to meet objectives; interpret specs, blueprints, and job orders and assign duties
• Analyze and resolve work problems; control overtime and absenteeism
• Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance and quality
• Interview, select, and orient subordinates; provide training and development
• Recommend personnel actions; interpret policies; handle initial counseling
• Maintain production and personnel reports and records
• Ensure safety, security, first aid, and good housekeeping in the department
• Communicate department objectives and progress to leadership
• Coordinate with Scheduler to ensure material, equipment, and manpower availability
• Educate staff on policies and environmental/quality standards
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to improve product quality
• Accept special assignments and complete in a timely manner
• Utilize company systems required of the position
