What You’ll Do

As a Lean Process Engineer and Supervisor, you will drive operations efficiency and cost reduction for the Wolf Lake site’s competitiveness through strong change leadership and application of business improvement tools. You will be responsible for supervising day to day operations of operational facility. Other duties include:

  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives, and regulations.
  • Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
  • Increase site productivity, partnering with site management team, by implementing standard work, line balancing, and removing bottlenecks.
  • Provide leadership through direction, support and guidance regarding all activities to meet production requirements.
  • Establish baseline, develop measures/targets, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Direct and coordinate operations resources to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Foster alignment to manufacturing strategies such as cost reductions, productivity improvements, organizational development, and safety performance to meet corporate business strategies using continuous improvement and the Management of Change process.
  • Align with the Business Excellence, identify and implement framework and strategy to reduce waste and improve quality, directly impacting the site costs.
  • Use technical know-how for making time studies, material/man/information flows, layouts, etc. for identifying improvements. Lead and/or implement these improvements ensuring controls in place for sustaining results.
  • Employ hands-on approach to data collection, analysis, recommendations of opportunities, and implementation. Apply Lean and statistical tools for data-driven decisions.
  • Introduce innovative ideas and technologies and be a change agent to effectively implement and sustain.
  • Ensure and/or support compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations; Support compliance with ISO 9001-2008.

What We’re Looking For:

  • BS Degree or higher in Engineering or related field, or have comparative level of experience.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience from manufacturing operations, possibly chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience driving Lean Sigma projects for minimum of 3 years and fluent at training others with these tools.
  • Computer literacy in MS Windows. Experience with SAP and Minitab, plus.
  • Ability to independently identify process problems/opportunities, identifies root cause, and implements solutions.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
