Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking an Operational Excellence Intern (Industrial Solutions) in Hendersonville, NC. The role focuses on applying Lean principles, data-driven problem solving, and process optimization to enhance product quality and operating performance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, implement solutions, and contribute to a culture of excellence and innovation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Industrial, Mechatronic, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (Power BI).
• Familiarity with Python, C++, Java, or SQL; Ignition a plus.
• Capable of taking feedback and building ground-up solutions for production issues.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, deploying, and sustaining standardized processes to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
• Document SOPs and process maps.
• Analyze process inefficiencies using Lean methodologies and develop standard work and deliverables.
• Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for improvement projects.
• Create visualizations for the production floor to help track performance metrics.
• Participate in Kaizen events and cross-functional workshops.
• Contribute to visual management tools and dashboards to monitor metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize improvement opportunities based on data and business impact.
