Peet’s Coffee, Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Process Engineer for the Brooklyn Center roasting plant in MN. The role focuses on applying lean methodologies to reduce waste, improve process efficiency, and minimize variability across operations.

You will lead Kaizen events, mentor teams, and drive structured problem-solving to deliver sustainable gains. The position reports to the VP of Coffee Operations and requires hands-on leadership, collaboration across functions, and a strong bias for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven experience using structured problem-solving tools and methodologies to identify root causes and implement sustainable process improvements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex issues, develop solutions, and drive effective implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate with, and engage teams at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate waste and reduce costs.
• Analyze process performance, material usage, labor, energy, scrap, downtime, and other cost drivers.
• Develop and implement process improvements to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Lead and support structured problem-solving activities (RCCMs, A3s, DMAIC).
• Lead Lean/Kaizen events to increase throughput and quality at the roasting plant.
• Provide training on problem solving tools and lean daily management.
