Job summary

Corning Inc. seeks an Operations Section Supervisor for the Phoenix plant. You will oversee a large, multi-shift production team, drive safety, quality, and cost targets, and push continuous improvement using data-driven decisions and Lean methods.

You will coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to meet customer commitments while optimizing throughput, yield, and labor efficiency. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years high-volume manufacturing, production, or plant operations experience.
• 3+ years leading multi-shift teams with KPI responsibility and CI experience.
• Proven ability to use production data to drive decisions and communicate results.
• Strong knowledge of quality control, safety regulations, and manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

• Own execution of production plans and schedules to meet demand and targets.
• Lead and develop multi-shift manufacturing leaders and hourly teams.
• Establish and drive improvement of production KPIs across the floor.
• Provide daily direction on priorities and performance expectations.
• Champion process control, change management, and root cause problem solving.
• Maintain quality standards and adherence to specifications.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage budgets, resources, labor, and production costs to optimize performance.
• Own safety performance and ensure regulatory and internal standard compliance.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Logistics.
• Apply manufacturing best practices and emerging technologies to improve performance.
• Deploy talent management programs and develop salaried and hourly staff.
