Job summary

Corning Inc. seeks an Operations Department Head at its Phoenix plant to lead a large multi-shift production team.

You will own production planning, drive safety and quality culture, and use data-driven decisions to optimize efficiency, cost, and throughput across the manufacturing floor. Responsibilities include leading manufacturing leaders and hourly staff, managing budgets, and collaborating with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to meet customer commitments while improving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own execution of production plans and schedules to meet customer demand, maximize throughput, and achieve targets.
• Lead, coach, and develop manufacturing leaders and hourly production teams across a multi-shift operation.
• Establish, track, communicate, and drive improvement of production KPIs, including safety, quality, yield, uptime, scrap, and efficiency.
• Provide daily direction to production leaders on priorities and performance expectations.
• Champion process control, change management, and root cause problem solving to improve capability and stability.
• Maintain quality standards and adherence to specifications and best practices.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Manage budgets, resources, and labor utilization to optimize performance and minimize waste.
• Ensure safety performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
