Job summary

Astec, Inc. is hiring at our RexCon facility in Burlington, WI for a Primary Process Owner. The role focuses on developing safe, efficient manufacturing methods and leading lean initiatives to reduce costs and improve quality and on-time delivery.

You will work with manufacturing, quality, OpEx and safety, using kaizen, value-stream mapping, and standard work to drive outcomes across the plant. A strong cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, mechanical engineering or related field required.
• 0-3 years related work experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Knowledge of machine shop operations and lean methods is required.
• Knowledge of metal-cutting processes (punch, plasma, flame) is required.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand symbols used in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with nesting software for material optimization is preferred.
• Collaboration to influence and manage change in a heavy multi-shift environment is needed.

Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, and recommends improvements in manufacturing methods to reduce cost and improve productivity.
• Leads cross-functional events and applies lean principles to improve safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Analyzes workflow, capacity, space, and tooling to maximize efficiency and safety.
• Creates and maintains standard work instructions and assembly tooling.
• Plans equipment needs and fixtures to meet production and quality requirements.
• Prepares presentations and communicates findings to teams and management.
