Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. in Appleton, WI seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, workflow, throughput, space utilization and product quality based on knowledge of design, materials, tooling, fabrication and QA standards.

The role leads continuous improvement activities, Kaizen events, and cross-functional collaboration with NPD and other teams to optimize production capabilities, implement control plans, and advance lean manufacturing across cells.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or a technical discipline, or associates degree with 2 years relevant work experience.
• 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical and statistical concepts.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and variables.
• Experience with project management.
• Lean Six Sigma Training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes to meet production demand.
• Lead continuous improvement activities and Kaizen events.
• Interface with colleagues, customers, vendors to understand requirements and improve production techniques.
• Define process and equipment capabilities.
• Apply Lean manufacturing principles to develop flow through manufacturing processes.
• Communicate data and feedback to other departments for timely decisions.
• Determine root cause and corrective action of non-conforming product and disposition MRR in BAAN.
• Complete all Corrective Action Records (CARs).
• Responsible for proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
