Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Richmond, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to improve productivity and efficiency through analysis, design, and implementation of tools, processes, and equipment. You will rotate between projects to gain exposure to various manufacturing processes and apply Lean principles.

The role emphasizes PFEP, jig and fixture design, layout generation, and work instruction development, with collaboration across departments to meet productivity targets and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering from an accredited university.
• Training with AutoCAD or other layout/design software.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials and gathering input from operators, stakeholders, and equipment manufacturers.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Provide manufacturing decision‑making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Assist with managing capital expenditures as assigned to include project identification, justification and completion.
• Delivery on productivity targets as outlined in the annual operating plan.
