Job summary

Slate is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer, Lean Manufacturing to optimize automotive manufacturing processes in the USA. The role focuses on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets are met.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years related experience with Bachelor's degree; 6 years with Master's; 3 years with PhD or equivalent in automotive/manufacturing.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing is required.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, RCA, and problem-solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Apply Lean tools (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Kanban) to streamline operations.
  • Lead or support CI projects focused on cost reduction, productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain for alignment on strategies.
  • Support NPI and launch readiness activities, including PFMEA and control plans.
