Corning is seeking a Lean Engineer to identify and eliminate waste at our Newton, NC manufacturing facility using Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. You will lead cross-functional improvement efforts, facilitate Kaizen events, and drive measurable gains in efficiency and standardization.

Responsibilities include applying standardized practices, leading SMED and 5S initiatives, analyzing capacity, and managing improvement projects across production lines.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and their practical application in a production environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Experience retrieving and analyzing data from relational databases.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as a Lean Manufacturing subject matter expert; lead interdepartmental efforts to identify waste and implement continuous improvement solutions
• Analyze work processes; develop, document, and communicate standardized best practices across the plant
• Plan and facilitate SMED and Kaizen events, 5S initiatives, and improvement workshops; drive standardization across all production processes
• Provide input to plant capacity and process throughput analysis based on time studies and direct observation
• Manage structured improvement projects using company-endorsed project management and problem-solving methodologies
• Support production teams on process flow issues and actively participate in equipment improvement initiatives
• Administer the plant employee suggestion program; support engagement and follow-through on submitted ideas
• Uses value stream mapping to identify waste, improve material and information flow, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
