The Lean Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements across the organization to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality, and drive operational excellence. This role leverages Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to promote a culture of innovation and excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and support cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
Analyze data to identify areas of waste, variation, and inefficiency.
Facilitate Kaizen events, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
Develop and deploy standard operating procedures (SOPs), visual controls, and best practices.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to enhance process design and layout.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess improvement outcomes and sustainability.
Train and mentor team members on continuous improvement principles and tools.
Collaborate with leadership to align improvement initiatives with strategic business goals.
Support new product introductions by ensuring Lean process integration.
Support change management and sustainment of improvements across departments.
Document and communicate progress, successes, and lessons learned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
Proficient in data analysis and process mapping tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, Visio).
Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
