Job summary

Parker Aerospace seeks a Lean Manufacturing Manager to lead the division's lean initiatives and train associates in the Parker Lean System, driving continuous improvement across manufacturing and support functions.

You will collaborate with division staff and plant leadership to standardize processes, lead PFMEA activities, and drive metrics such as ROS and RONA, reporting to the Division Lean Manager. A BSME or similar degree and 5+ years in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

  • BSME or equivalent engineering degree required, with a minimum of five years manufacturing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles including Value Stream Mapping, JIT, Demand Flow, and Single Piece Flow.
  • Led a minimum of ten Kaizen events in a manufacturing environment; broad office and factory exposure.
  • Familiarity with financial metrics in Lean environments (ROS, RONA, Lean Report Card).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead lean implementation using Parker Lean Systems across division and sites.
  • Develop standardization of manufacturing processes to support quality and productivity improvements.
  • Lead PFMEA activities to mitigate failures in manufacturing.
  • Support Plant Lean Leaders and Manufacturing Engineers with required teamwork and mentoring.
  • Communicate status of Lean efforts to Division Lean Manager and executives, documenting results.

The vision of Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division is to be the global leader in the design, development, manufacture, and service of engine fuel, lubrication, and thermal management systems and components for aerospace/defense and industrial applications. Position Summary:

Primary resource for supporting the division in its EH&S initiatives and lean transformation through the implementation of the Parker Lean System (PLS). Delivers practical, hands‑on training to associates in PLS methodology and tools to eliminate waste in manufacturing and support functions. Measures and reports progress on an on‑going basis using the Win Scorecard and PLS Lean Journey Assessment. Trains and develops associates in PLS methodology. Position reports to the Division Lean Manager and ensures full Parker Lean System and EH&S education and implementation in all functional areas at the division, plant, and facility level to ensure consistency and sustainability. Provides leadership and direction to the Manufacturing Engineers and partners with, develops, and manages the lean team, where appropriate.

Essential Functions:
  • Works with division staff and plant level management on lean implementation using Parker Lean Systems as the principal tool. Ensures
  • the development of a robust Lean Future State Strategy to be implemented division wide. Develops and coordinates the standardization of
  • manufacturing process to support quality and productivity improvements. Leads PFMEA activities to mitigate failures in the manufacturing
  • The Lean Manufacturing Manager will ensure adherence to PLS standards for the Site, Value Stream and Team Improvement
  • boards enabling a PDCA culture and progression of the Lean Journey. In multi‑site Divisions, supports Plant Lean Leaders and
  • Manufacturing Engineers through required and special team meetings. Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations
  • in meeting productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals.
  • In multi‑site divisions, helps develop Plant Lean Leaders with an emphasis on championing the Division’s goals, objectives, and
  • implementation plans relative to the Lean Journey Assessment, Division Strategy Deployment, and Future State Site Plans.
  • Communicates the status of all Lean efforts to the Division Lean Manager. Provides documentation of results and benefits achieved
  • to the Division and the Corporate Lean Leader, as reported through Parker's Lean Journey Assessment and Win scorecard.
  • Shares “best practice” methods and ideas with Division Lean Manager.
  • Responsible for championing and leading lean initiatives at the Division level by utilizing the Company's WIN Strategy and organizes
  • associates in value stream mapping and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste in all office, factory and support functions.
  • Measures and reports progress on an on‑going basis using the Lean Journey Assessment, financial performance measures (ROS, RONA,
  • etc) and Lean Report Card measures and transfers the ownership of Lean principles to facility leadership and Lean Managers
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a BSME or related four‑year technical degree is required with a minimum of five years of manufacturing experience
  • demonstrating a self‑starting and hands‑on quality.
  • A good understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just‑In‑Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S’s,
  • Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma and Communication
  • Tools, Statistical Problem Solving, ISO, QS9000 or similar.
  • Has successfully led a minimum of ten (10) Kaizen events within a manufacturing environment. Has participated in numerous other
  • Kaizen events preferably in both the manufacturing and office areas.
  • Good understanding of financial measurements and goals in the Lean enterprise.
  • Excellent communication skills to lead and support empowered employees in a team environment.
  • Good presentation skills to effectively share the success and ideas of the Division.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes, fixturing, tooling, EH&S and developing standard work around each
  • of these functional disciplines.
  • Responsible for championing and leading Lean initiatives at the Division level by utilizing the Company's WIN Strategy. Organizes
  • associates in value stream mapping and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste in all office, factory and support functions.
