Job summary

Eurofins USA BioPharma Services in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Lean Industrial Engineer to lead site-specific initiatives and champion the Eurofins Operational Excellence methodology (Lean/5S) across laboratory operations.

The role focuses on automating and streamlining lab processes, leading Kaizen events, mapping value streams, tracking KPIs, and driving waste reduction while collaborating with automation engineers and lab staff to deliver measurable productivity gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science; Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience or significant internship experience with Lean/operational excellence projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze laboratory processes to identify automation and lean improvements.
• Lead Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and other lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve flow.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align automation with lean goals and business objectives.
• Monitor KPIs related to efficiency, downtime, and quality; report findings.
• Train staff on lean principles and tools.
• Serve as SME working with automation engineers and lab operations to identify automation opportunities for productivity gains.
• Develop tools to quantify labor savings, waste reduction and carbon footprint impacts.
• Manage projects from inception to completion and implement corrective actions as needed.
