Job summary

Corning is seeking a Lean Engineer for our Concord, NC manufacturing facility. You will drive foundational and transformational Lean initiatives across Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery, partnering with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to deliver measurable improvements.

Responsibilities include leading Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, and flow optimizations, while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment and building a sustainable Lean culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years in Lean engineering, manufacturing, or operations.
• Strong familiarity with 24/7 manufacturing environments and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean initiatives to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Plan and facilitate Kaizen events and value-stream mapping sessions.
• Quantify cost savings and capacity gains; track metrics with finance teams.
• Develop current/future state value stream maps and lead cross-functional reviews.
• Improve workplace flow, layouts, and ergonomic considerations with engineering partners.
• Apply DMAIC, PDCA, and root-cause methods for sustainable corrective actions.
