Job summary

Hexcel in Pottsville, PA is seeking a Continuous Improvement Co-Op to support lean manufacturing initiatives at our site. You will collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to identify waste, map value streams, and implement mistake-proofing solutions.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining Visual Workplace tools, drawing plant layouts, participating in Kaizen events, and supporting safety initiatives while applying 6S, Kanban and VSM techniques.

Qualifications

• Field of study: industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering or technology related fields.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills are required.
• PC and AutoCAD / Visio skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Create Value Stream Maps (VSMs) and identify areas of improvement.
• Work with production, engineering, and quality to implement Mistake Proofing (Poka Yoke) devices.
• Participate in Kaizen events to rapidly improve processes.
• Engage in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and implement countermeasures.
• Develop, maintain and improve Visual Workplace tools.
• Draw/revise plant layouts to improve flow and reduce waste.
• Support Safety initiatives to raise awareness and reduce risk.
