Job summary

Van Meter Inc. is seeking a Lean Construction Coordinator for Interstates to support job-site material coordination, ordering, receiving, and agile construction practices. You will liaise between Van Meter, Interstates, and site crews while upholding safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role emphasizes collaboration with sales, operations, and field teams, delivering parts, tools, and support to ensure efficient jobsite operations across deployments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Previous distribution center experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs. on a consistent basis.
  • Forklift operating experience required.
  • Deployment to jobsites throughout the United States for extended periods of time.
  • Minimum 2 year commitment required.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Eclipse preferred.
  • Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus.
  • Ability to operate lift truck equipment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives.
  • Complete returns for parts and tools from the jobsite.
  • Maintain jobsite inventory.
  • Complete parts and tools requests through ordering, receiving and shipping.
  • Conduct product and tool cleaning, inspection, and storage at the jobsite.
  • Work closely with Inside Sales and Purchasing.
  • Provide customer service and support as main contact between Van Meter and Interstates.
  • Set up and relocate fabrication stations/areas.
  • Clean, stock and remove excess material from work areas.
  • Deliver parts and tools to needed areas of jobsite.
  • Receive and distribute deliveries as needed.
  • Keep Connex and laydown yard clean and orderly.
  • Clean, charge and/or fuel lifts and generators.
  • General jobsite housekeeping.
  • Assemble lights and other assemblies before installation.
  • Take part in keeping office and break trailers clean and orderly.
  • Responsibly manage expense associated with travel and working in the field.
  • General help with crew members when needed.

Description
Summary:

The Lean Construction Coordinator for Interstates plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of being our customers' competitive advantage by facilitating the needs of the customer's job site. This includes, but is not limited to ordering material, receiving material at jobsite, providing material coordination and agile construction practices to the jobsite. This individual is an important liason between Van Meter sales, operations, and Interstates in the field. This person exemplifies all safe work practices. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to be our customer's competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives
  • Complete returns for parts and tools from the jobsite

Job Requirements/Specifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
