Job summary

ABB Installation Products in Portland, TN, seeks an entry-level assembly/production team member to support achieving production targets on the shop floor. You will read and interpret technical diagrams/instructions for product assembly and operate on-site using light hand tools as needed.

Responsibilities include quality testing, packing, labeling, space management with 5S, and contributing to Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one month or less similar or related work experience.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request parts or supplies verbally or in writing.

Responsibilities

• Visual quality inspections
• Place product in box with appropriate count in each box
• Label product and boxes
• Tape boxes
• Lift and carry boxes up to 45 lbs.
• Monitor equipment operation
• Assist in training of new employees
• Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion – 5S
• Follow standardized work instructions
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing efforts
• Participate in Kaizen events
• Cover other positions following appropriate training as needed
