Job summary

ABB Installation Products in Portland, TN is hiring for an on-site production associate. You will support the unit in achieving production targets by following established systems and procedures, read and interpret technical diagrams for assembly, and participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.

Responsibilities include visual quality inspections, boxing and labeling products, taping, lifting up to 45 lbs, monitoring equipment, training new employees, keeping a clean 5S workspace, following

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one month or less similar or related work experience.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request parts or supplies verbally.

Responsibilities

• Visual quality inspections
• Place product in box with appropriate count in each box
• Label product and boxes
• Tape boxes
• Lift and carry boxes up to 45 lbs.
• Monitor equipment operation
• Assist in training of new employees
• Maintain work area in 5S
• Follow standardized work instructions
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing efforts
• Participate in Kaizen events
• Cover other positions following appropriate training as needed
