Job summary

The Berkshire Gas Company in Pittsfield, MA, is seeking a Leak Survey Tech II for field work from spring through winter. You will perform mobile and walking surveys, document findings, and report leaks while supporting various survey projects across Berkshire County.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform mobile & walking leak surveys of mains and services in Berkshire Gas distribution system.
• Document daily surveys on laptop and download data weekly into database.
• Report all Class I leaks to dispatch immediately.
• Document and communicate all Class II and III leaks.
• Perform miscellaneous survey work throughout the year: Preconstruction Street - Leak Survey; Valve Box Survey; Pre & Post Blasting Survey; Cast Iron Encroachment Survey; System Upgrade Survey; respond to daily leak calls; surveys of buildings and business districts.

Responsibilities

To perform mobile & walking Fl survey of all mains & services in the Berkshire Gas distribution system. The outside survey will take place from approximately April through December and perform miscellaneous surveys and survey related duties during the winter months.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform surveys and document daily on laptop and download weekly the information into database.
• Document daily main surveys on company provided area maps and electronic data terminal.
• Report all Class I leaks to dispatch immediately.
• Document & communicate daily all Class II & Class Ill leaks on company provided leak reports.
• Miscellaneous survey work throughout the year:

• Preconstruction Street - Leak Survey
• Preconstruction Street - Valve Box. Survey
• Pre & Post Blasting Survey
• Cast Iron Encroachment Survey
• System Upgrade Survey
• Respond to daily leak call-ins (odor complaints)
• Perform building and business district surveys and provide data daily
