Job summary

Galent in Houston, TX (Hybrid) seeks an engineer to implement and support high-fidelity CPM and OTS applications for oil and gas pipelines using RTTM. Design and tune hydraulic models and lead project activities across on-site and offshore locations.

You will develop FDS/ATP documentation, work with clients to define requirements, and provide technical guidance to project engineers while contributing to end-user training materials.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with pipeline simulation software in oil and gas.
• Minimum 5 years with industry-standard leak detection software.
• Experience with Energy Solutions International (ESI).
• Knowledge of SCADA, instrumentation, and process control.
• Understanding regulatory requirements for LDS and OTS.
• Ability to develop small applications using SQL.
• Ability to develop project plans and coordinate team members.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and tune hydraulic models for pipeline systems.

Job Summary

• Responsible for implementing and supporting high-fidelity Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) and Operator Training Simulator (OTS) applications for oil and gas pipelines using sophisticated Real-Time Transient Models (RTTM).
• Work on the design, configuration, tuning, and testing of pipeline hydraulic model-based leak detection systems and operator training simulators.
• Lead project activities independently and provide guidance to engineering teams across onsite and offshore locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and tune hydraulic models for pipeline systems using industry-standard leak detection and operator training simulator software packages.
• Develop and review project documentation, including Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), and custom user documentation.
• Work directly with clients to understand requirements and provide effective technical solutions.
• Participate in client testing and validation activities.
• Provide guidance and technical support to project engineers and coordinate with project implementation teams.
• Assist in the development of standard procedures and end-user training materials.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with pipeline simulation software in the oil and gas pipeline industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with industry-standard leak detection software packages.
• Experience with Energy Solutions International (ESI).
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, instrumentation, and process control.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for Leak Detection Systems (LDS) and Operator Training Simulators (OTS).
• Ability to develop small applications using SQL and a standard programming language.
• Ability to develop project plans and coordinate team members to meet project deliverables.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with DNVGL SPS, Schneider Electric SimSuite Atmos PIPE, or similar leak detection systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
