Job summary

NIAAA in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a detail‑driven, collaborative Leadership Training Institute Manager to oversee daily operations of the LTI, administer course registration through completion, and drive continuous program improvements.

Job description

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) is seeking an energetic, highly organized, collaborative, and technology-oriented professional to serve as its Leadership Training Institute (LTI) Manager.

The NIAAA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit professional association representing more than 17,000 middle school and high school athletic administrators throughout the United States and internationally. The Association is committed to advancing education-based athletics through leadership development, professional certification, and quality educational programming.

This full-time position serves a critical leadership role in administering and continuously improving the NIAAA Leadership Training Institute (LTI). The successful candidate will oversee daily operations of the Leadership Training Program while providing outstanding service to members, instructors, state coordinators, universities, volunteer leaders, and partner organizations.

Primary Responsibilities

The Leadership Training Institute Manager is responsible for the daily administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of the NIAAA Leadership Training Institute. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Leadership Training Institute Administration
  • Manage the daily operations of the NIAAA Leadership Training Institute.
  • Coordinate Leadership Training Course administration from registration through course completion.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and course completion data.
  • Apply participant credit following course completion.
  • Print instructor author certificates and Years of Service recognition.
  • Present Leadership Training Institute updates during meetings and conferences.
  • Recommend and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and member service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of Association initiatives.
Leadership Training Course Administration
  • Collect and process course rosters from all Leadership Training Courses.
  • Verify attendance and apply participant credit.
  • Maintain detailed electronic course records.
  • Coordinate distribution of instructor evaluations back to state associations.
  • Distribute digital and printed course manuals.
  • Coordinate with printing vendors to fulfill manual orders.
  • Ensure state associations have access to current Leadership Training manuals.
  • Maintain accurate records of instructor and participant activity.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for State Leadership Training Coordinators.
  • Publish and distribute quarterly State Coordinator newsletters.
  • Collect articles and prepare digital newsletter layouts.
  • Maintain State Coordinator resources and online toolboxes.
  • Develop and distribute onboarding materials for new State Coordinators.
  • Assist coordinators with hosting Leadership Training Courses.
  • Provide guidance, support, and technical assistance to State Coordinators.
  • Coordinate Leadership Training outreach opportunities with state associations.
  • Prepare and distribute outreach materials.
  • Track outreach participation and completion statistics.
  • Prepare reports for Association leadership.
  • Communicate logistics and event information with participants.
  • Provide online course access and participant support.
University Partnerships
  • Coordinate Leadership Training partnerships with colleges and universities.
  • Maintain university course offerings and instructional materials.
  • Track participant completions and apply university credit.
  • Coordinate billing information for university partners.
  • Maintain university products available through the NIAAA online store.
  • Monitor university program updates and curriculum revisions.
  • Coordinate Leadership Training webinars from registration through completion.
  • Communicate with instructors and participants before and during webinars.
  • Apply participant credit following successful completion.
  • Provide technical support throughout webinar delivery.
Leadership Training Manuals
  • Manage Leadership Training manual inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Professional Development Academy to maintain current course materials.
  • Coordinate uploading revised manuals into the Learning Management System.
  • Troubleshoot digital manual access and download issues.
Professional Development Academy
  • Assist with Professional Development Academy initiatives.
  • Participate in PDA meetings.
  • Assist with technology training and in-house professional development.
  • Develop workshop topics and assist with State Coordinator Summit presentations.
Member Service & Communication
  • Respond promptly to member inquiries by email and telephone.
  • Monitor Leadership Training email accounts and contact requests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, instructors, and volunteers.
  • Communicate professionally with participants regarding courses and program requirements.
Communications
  • Assist with monthly Leadership Training communications.
  • Support promotion of Leadership Training opportunities through Association communication platforms.
Technology & Workflow Management
Utilize modern technology to improve operational efficiency including:

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Professional Experience

Experience coordinating educational programs, professional development, membership services, project management, or nonprofit association operations preferred.

  • Familiarity with membership management databases.
  • Ability to travel and assist with NIAAA meetings, conferences, and occasional weekend events.
  • This position is an in-office position and follows the NIAAA work calendar.
Salary & Benefits

$55,000–$60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
