The University of Kansas is seeking a Student Programming Assistant to support the Student Engagement Center’s workshops, events, and outreach. This hourly position emphasizes contribution to leadership programs, campus events, and marketing efforts to enhance student involvement and success.
Responsibilities include coordinating sessions, guiding campus tours, and maintaining program logistics while ensuring strong written communication and friendly customer service.
The Student Engagement Center at the University of Kansas serves as a hub for student involvement, leadership development, impact programs and resources, and community programs. Through the Student Engagement Center, KU students deepen their connection to each other and KU by exploring communities and opportunities to thrive during their Jayhawk experience. Students will engage through registered student organizations, leadership experiences, and professional development workshops. The Center will impact students by providing for direct needs in the Campus Cupboard, Pregnant and Parenting Pantry, clothing closets, and the Emergency Aid Network. Jayhawks will build community as they connect with peers and engage in student support programs. The Student Engagement Center enhances existing programs by providing greater resources and deeper connections across Student Affairs.
Leadership Programs Student Assistants for the Student Engagement Center are responsible for strengthening the KU student experience through the implementation of personal and professional development workshops at the University of Kansas.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
