Job summary

Facing History and Ourselves is seeking a Leadership Gifts Officer for California to strengthen the statewide development effort and exceed annual fundraising goals. The role partners with regional leadership, Executive Directors in LA and the SF Bay Area, Advisory Boards, and staff to initiate, plan, and manage donor research, gifts, stewardship, board activities, events, and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Experience building and managing donor pipelines and funder relationships.
• Ability to plan and execute donor events and cultivation activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication for donor proposals and stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Manage a California statewide portfolio of institutional funders and individual donors.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet fundraising goals.
• Cultivate donors and maintain stewardship with Advisory Boards and partners.
• Coordinate with Corporate and Foundations teams on partnership opportunities.
• Plan and oversee fundraising events and activities to raise visibility and support.

Job description

The Leadership Gifts Officer for California will work to strategically strengthen the statewide development effort to meet and exceed our ambitious annual fundraising goals, currently set at just under $4million for FY22. This person will partner with regional Development leadership and staff, the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area Executive Directors, regional Advisory Board members, and other staff to initiate, plan, and manage fundraising efforts including donor research and cultivation, gift solicitation, stewardship, Advisory Board activities, fundraising events and partnership management with the Corporate and Foundations teams.

The Leadership Gifts Officer is responsible for a portfolio of institutional funders and individual donors with capacity to give gifts at $10,000 and above. In addition, this position will work to advance Facing History’s visibility and profile in California.
