Job summary

United Healthcare Workers East in New York, NY seeks a Leadership Development Coordinator to build leadership skills among staff and members. You will respond to training needs, convene meetings, and help design and deliver educational events and workshops.

The role requires collaboration with multiple departments, development of curricula, and coordination of training programs across the union. Travel across SEIU regions is involved.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in a social justice or education environment with facilitation experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, listening, speaking and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to travel to the five states SEIU represents and beyond.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; basic database skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with officers and staff to identify leadership development needs.
• Ensure smooth operation of the delegate training program for members.
• Develop and deliver curricula for courses, campaigns, events and conferences.
• Connect with adult learners to inspire, coach, and guide participants.
• Organize educational sessions and train staff and members as facilitators.
• Manage training logistics and communications with support staff.
