Job summary

ROPE Solutions embeds leadership coaches directly with client crews in live industrial operations. You will coach in real time on the front lines, build action plans, and sustain gains after deployment, shaping leaders with integrity and purpose.

This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement with worldwide deployment, not remote, and travel to client sites is expected.

ROPE Solutions embeds leadership coaches directly with client crews in live industrial operations. Not a classroom. Not a workshop. We are contracting Leadership Coaches to develop front-line leaders in the environments where their decisions actually count.

Why This Role

If you led in high-stakes environments, you carry something most organizations cannot buy or train: judgment built under pressure. This role puts it to work.

You will embed with crews in live conditions, doing performance coaching and leadership development in the raw moments that define safety and output. You will coach decision-making, team building, and communication where it counts. You watch crews turn into high-performing teams. You shape leaders who lead the way you once did, with integrity, confidence, and purpose.

It is demanding work and it is deeply rewarding.

What You'll Do

• Deploy with the advance team and gather ground truth at the front line
• Embed alongside client crews through execution, coaching in real time
• Build action plans specific to each operation, its people, and its metrics
• Stay through sustainment so the gains hold after you leave the field

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years leading teams in high-consequence, safety-critical environments where a leadership failure risks life, not just schedule or budget
• Direct, in-the-field accountability for a team's performance, discipline, and safety
• A track record of leading front-line personnel through austere, remote, or physically demanding operations on extended rotations

Complex problem solving

• Proven history of solving ambiguous problems where the plan changed mid-execution and nobody handed you a checklist
• Comfortable deciding with incomplete information and owning the outcome
• Able to cut through chaos to root cause, then build a workable path forward

Emotional intelligence and situational read

• High self-awareness. You know your triggers, your blind spots, and how you land on people when you are tired or frustrated
• Able to read a room, a crew, and an individual in real time and adjust on the spot
• Recognizes what is driving behavior underneath what is being said, and addresses the real issue instead of the surface complaint

Credibility and candor

• Earns trust fast with people who did not ask for a coach and are skeptical of outsiders
• Equally effective in front of a hands-on crew and across the table from an executive team
• Delivers direct feedback without damaging the relationship, and holds the standard while still developing the person

Character and self-direction

• Operates independently with no daily supervision
• Absolute integrity and discretion. You will sit inside sensitive conversations, and what you learn stays where it belongs

Logistics

• Willing to travel and deploy internationally on a 14/14 rotation
• Able to pass client safety, medical, and background requirements

Strongly Preferred

• U.S. military service in a leadership capacity, especially special operations or other high-tempo, high-consequence roles. As an SDVOSB, we actively value and recruit veteran experience
• Exposure to oil and gas, drilling, or comparable industrial operations, including working knowledge of safety culture and HSE expectations
• Coaching or instructor credentials. ICF certification, cadre or schoolhouse instructor time, or comparable curriculum delivery experience
• Advisory experience building capability inside partner organizations, where you had influence but no formal authority
• Facilitation and public speaking. Comfortable leading a room of 5 or 500

Also valuable:

behavioral assessment certification such as TTI Success Insights or DISC, athletics coaching or performance work at the collegiate or professional level, and business acumen from P&L responsibility, operations management, or organizational development.

Engagement and Location

1099 independent contractor engagement, 14 on / 14 off. We consider candidates worldwide and home base is flexible. This is an embedded, on-location role with domestic and international deployment. It is not remote and it is not a desk.
