Job summary

Textron Aviation Inc. in Wichita, KS seeks an experienced supervisor for the aircraft completion process. You will plan, organize and control manpower costs, production flow, and quality, safety and training for team members.

You will lead a team, coordinate lean practices, monitor daily operations and contribute to budget reports while maintaining strong communication and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or minimum 5 years manufacturing or supervisory experience.
• Strong organizational, human-relations and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Excel, Word) and SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assign team members to production operations aligned with schedules.
• Ensure safety, quality and efficiency of operations and meet production timelines.
• Engage daily with team on workmanship, efficiencies and safe working conditions.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices and coordinate Area Team Development events.
• Hold weekly team meetings to communicate updates and resolve programs.
• Support the Value Stream Manager by monitoring daily operations and reporting.

JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises team members in the aircraft completion process. This involves planning, organizing and controlling manpower cost, continuity of production flow according to schedules and the maintenance and improvement of quality, safety, efficiency and training of team members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises and assigns team members to production operations in line with schedules. Realigns assignments as required.
• Responsible for safety, quality, meeting schedules and efficiency of operations.
• Daily interaction with team members regarding workmanship, efficiencies and safe working conditions as well as identifying ergonomic opportunities.
• Implements lean manufacturing processes and practices as well as coordinates all Area Team Development events for area of responsibility.
• Holds weekly team meetings to communicate items such as general communication and resolving programs.
• Assists the Value Stream Manager in monitoring daily production operations through continuing efficiency, aircraft production and budget reports.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree preferred, or in lieu of degree a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience and/or relative supervisory experience is required.
