Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Leader, Government Capture to drive capture strategy for government-funded opportunities across our Energy & Utilities portfolio. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, energy, business, public policy, economics, or a related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
• Substantial experience in electricity or energy industry, government business development, capture management, or related fields.
• Experience evaluating funding opportunities and developing capture strategies for government-funded research proposals.
• Willingness to travel for government and industry engagement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary capture partner and trusted contact for sector management and technical staff.
• Maintain understanding of sector strategies, research portfolios, and funding needs.
• Partner with government account executives to identify opportunities from federal and state agencies.
• Attend agency engagements to gather information on upcoming solicitations.
• Map opportunities to sector programs and prepare opportunity assessments for internal review.
• Gather and validate information required to qualify opportunities, coordinating with various stakeholders.
• Develop balanced Go/No-Go recommendations and facilitate decision-making for sector executives.

For our client, we are seeking a Leader, Government Capture to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.

This role will lead capture strategy for government-funded opportunities that support research and technical initiatives across the organization. The position partners closely with sector leadership, technical experts, and government account teams to evaluate funding prospects, shape pursuit strategy, and support decision-making on priority opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring strong judgment, cross-functional influence, and familiarity with public-sector funding dynamics to help advance the organization’s research portfolio.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $125,000 – $145,000 annually

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in evaluating funding opportunities and developing capture strategies for government-funded research proposals
• Experience collaborating with technical professionals, program managers, and senior executives
• Familiarity with government funding mechanisms, including contracts and grants
• Knowledge relevant to the assigned research portfolio or technical domain preferred
• Willingness to travel as required for government and industry engagement
