Job summary

Capital One Data Insights and Analytics seeks a Manager, Data Scientist to lead data science initiatives across the Commercial Business Analysis team. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and relationship managers to deliver data-driven products that create tangible value for clients and the bank.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 6 years of data analytics.
• Master's degree in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration plus 4 years of data analytics.
• PhD in a quantitative field plus 1 year of data analytics.
• At least 1 year of experience using open source languages for large-scale data analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience with machine learning.
• At least 1 year of experience working with relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional team to deliver data science products creating real client value.
• Build and validate machine learning models through design, training, evaluation and implementation.
• Back-test and validate insights against third-party data; ensure robust statistical analysis.
• Modernize data infrastructure with tailored analytical tools on core enterprise data schemas.
• Support long-term technical integrations for complex business projects.
