Job summary

The Department of Corrections, Division of Juvenile Corrections in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is recruiting for Supervising Youth Counselor 1 positions. This role leads Youth Counselors on the shift, ensures security and daily operations, and maintains living conditions for youth under supervision.

Starting pay is $46.74–$50.35 per hour with benefits, a 12-month probation, and opportunities for increases per the Wisconsin Compensation Plan. Remote work is not available.

Qualifications

• Minimally qualified applicants will have training and/or experience: Lead worker activities (training/orienting new employees, assigning duties, establishing procedures).
• Security related tasks, such as conducting rounds and supervising residents.
• Responding to emergencies and crises during incidents.
• Working with multi-disciplinary teams or work groups.
• Developing post orders, policies, and/or procedures, handbooks, etc.
• Experience in juvenile justice secure environments or similar facilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assign Youth Counselors on the assigned shift.
• Oversee security, programming, and operations scheduling.
• Maintain living conditions and safety for youth and staff.
