Job summary

Waukesha County’s Department of Health & Human Services is hiring a Youth Justice Supervisor to lead the Youth Justice team responsible for supervision of workers delivering court-related services to youth in the juvenile justice system. The role focuses on ensuring safe, developmentally appropriate interventions and coordinated case planning for youth in out-of-home care and dual systems.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of responsible professional work experience in social work or counseling in a human service agency.
• A master's degree from a recognized college or university in social work, sociology, psychology, or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage, guide, and support Youth Justice professionals providing ongoing supervision services for court-involved youth.
• Ensure integrated case planning and coordinated service delivery for dual status youth.
• Provide coaching to strengthen worker performance and professional development, including documentation quality, engagement practices, and behavior change strategies.
• Maintain a unit culture that values youth voice, family engagement, collaboration, equity, and professional accountability.
• Provide consultation on complex cases and guide case planning to address safety, risk, need, responsivity factors, and protective factors.
• Coordinate with child welfare, out-of-home care providers, and permanency resources to align case planning, visitation, and service expectations when systems overlap.
